The Chicago Athenaeum, Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies informs that maison L has received The International Architecture Award for 2013.
The International Architectural Awards are the highest and most prestigious distinguished building awards program that honor new and cutting-edge design. This annual program, organized by both institutions, also promotes international architecture and design to public audience globally.

En 2007, nous décidons de transformer occasionnellement notre lieu de travail quotidien en espace sans affectation. Nous n’en connaissions a priori ni la forme ni le fonctionnement, une intention à déterminer.
En mai 2007 nous nous trouvons, le soir du résultat des présidentielles, au vernissage de l’exposition mise en espace par Pierre Leguillon «je m’voyais déjà». Concours de circonstances, nous l’invitons à activer notre projet «d’espace sans affectation».
Nous lui proposons un espace d’archives, de travail, de projection... Rien de tout cela y trouvera sa place. Il finira par nous proposer d’y ouvrir un bar.
En septembre 2007, sur une proposition de Pierre Leguillon, nous dessinons et construisons le bar de la promesse de l’écran.
En novembre 2007 nous tenons notre première promesse.
Nous tiendrons, ensemble plus d’une trentaine de Promesses entre 2007 et 2010

Pour la cinquième saison consécutive, le Théâtre National de Chaillot affirme son engagement en faveur des arts visuels. Dans le cadre de « Station expérimentale », en partenariat avec le Centre national des arts plastiques , le théâtre présente, en résonance avec sa programmation, une série de performances inédites. Pour ouvrir la saison, nous vous proposons de découvrir le travail de Pierre Leguillon, dans le cadre du parcours de la FIAC (Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain).
La Promesse de l’écran est un dispositif de projection escamotable créé par Pierre Leguillon en 2007. Les séances sont consacrées à des aspects périphériques au cinéma : générique, affiche, motif récurrent, etc. ou bien proposent de regarder en direction de l’écran depuis un autre médium : poésie, peinture, dessin… Participant pleinement de la culture DVD, on y projette rarement des films dans leur support d’origine, mais des reproductions, dont on visionne des extraits, souvent agrémentés de bonus. On y traverse différents genres de cinéma, le temps d’un montage.
Réalisée à l’initiative du Capc, Musée d’Art contemporain de Bordeaux, La Promesse de l’architecture fut d’abord projetée fin 2009 dans la Maison Lemoine, dessinée par Rem Koolhaas à Floirac. Elle signa aussi la fin de chantier, en juin 2010, d’une autre maison privée, construite par Christian Pottgiesser (architecturespossibles) en périphérie de Paris. Projetée ici dans le Grand Foyer du Théâtre National de Chaillot, avec vue imprenable sur la Tour Eiffel, elle échafaude des dizaines de séquences tournées dans des architectures remarquables ou décrivant remarquablement l’architecture. Une cité ima- ginaire se déploie sur l’écran dont les architectes sont tout à la fois Michelangelo Antonioni, Jacques Tati, Rainer Werner Fassbinder, Oscar Niemeyer, Jean-Luc Godard, Fritz Lang, Bertrand Blier, Man Ray ou Frank Lloyd Wright.

Maison L has been nominated for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture-Mies van der Rohe Award 2013. Launched in 1987, this Prize is co-funded by the EU Culture Programme and the Fundació Mies van der Rohe. By highlighting excellent architectural works that have been constructed over the last two years, the Prize draws attention to the contribution of European professionals in the development of new ideas and technologies, as well as the cultural importance of architecture in the construction of our cities.

« La modernité, promesse ou menace ? »
Tel est le thème du Pavillon français à la prochaine biennale d'architecture de Venise qui s'ouvrira le 7 juin
En choisissant d'interroger la « modernité », le Pavillon français de la 14e biennale d'architecture de Venise revient cette année sur les « fondements » de la discipline, thème général de la manifestation dont le commissariat est assuré par une star de l'architecture, le Néerlandais Rem Koolhaas. L'architecture, discipline artistique, comprend aussi de « forts enjeux sociaux. » Elle est donc comme l'a souligné Aurélie Filippetti le 15 avril lors de la présentation du Pavillon français un véritable « acte de civilisation.»
Selon Jean-Louis Cohen, le commissaire du Pavillon français, la modernité a rencontré « la réforme sociale, matérialisant de grands espoirs, comme l'accession à des logements de qualité et à des services collectifs pour les classes défavorisées. » La scène architecturale française a garanti ainsi le progrès social, véritable «constante nationale. » Mais elle produit aussi de grands ensembles isolés et monotones, dont la crise aggrave les défauts.
Le livre
Six auteurs, sous la direction de Jean-Louis Cohen, assisté par Vanessa Grossman, analysent 101 bâtiments emblématiques depuis 1914 jusqu'à aujourd'hui. L'ouvrage, riche de textes et d'illustrations, coédité par l'Institut français et Dominique Carré se présente comme « une promenade architecturale dans le temps et comme un récit visuel » qui s'inscrit dans la durée.
La maison L y présente l’année 2010.
